The purpose of the hydraulic model studies discusses in this report was to check the adequacy of a purpose tunnel spillway design employing an effset in the invert to aerate the spillway flow and air groove to aerate the flow surface of the vertical bean , thereby minimizing the cavitation potential in the vertical bend in the vertical bend and the tunnel floor downstream from it.
